The Davis universe

The Davis universe

Engineers cast shadows on the walls of the Davis Cavern 4,850 feet underground in the Sanford Underground Research Facility. This photo was taken after the Ray Davis neutrino experiment was removed, but before the walls were covered in shotcrete in preparation for the Large Underground Xenon (LUX) dark matter detector.
