The Davis Cavern on the 4850 Level of the Sanford Underground Research Facility was once home to Ray Davis’ Nobel Prize winning solar neutrino experiment. The cavern has been enlarged, the walls coated in a spray-on concrete or shotcrete and outfitted for the Large Underground Xenon (LUX) experiment. Looking to the north.
